Voiceover Inspiration and Connection

The way the voiceover describes the character on screen creates the similar effect for audience recognition I aim for in my film.
In my voiceover I foreshadow Chris's character with a few lines, similarly so does the voiceover in the clip above, an example being '...'
This builds up excitement for further presentation of the character.

At first I doubted whether to put a voiceover in my short film as it felt like I was doing something unconventional along the lines of social realism in the sense that usually in a social realism film directors let their characters speak for themselves and develop the film along their characters progression. The main reason why I ended up dong this against the norm of my genre was because I was working with a small time frame, as I was making a short film.
I feel that from this I developed a similar impact through the use of my voiceovers with a 'short and sweet' aspect that some movies provide for their audiences at a longer length, but only in terms of thematic information. This is because the voiceovers allowed me to quickly and in detail reveal important information for a viewer in question watching my film. (Re-word)

Was using an ocean blue background behind the whole design. Had to spend a while cropping out parts of the steamboat picture so the Ocean blue background can show through and make the design more rounded (As shown above).
